condition (shitajiki): how do you rate it?
shitajiki, even new, rarely come in perfect, pristine condition. the shiny, smooth surface of most shitajiki attracts scratches and scuffs easily; even the plastic sleeve they're in will often scratch or leave surface marks. furoku shitajiki have it the worst, since they often come packaged with a magazine or manga serial volume, without the benefit of even the flimsy default plastic sleeve. each collector's tolerance for a shitajiki's condition varies, and the opinions set forth here are subjective and strictly my own. i think the condition ratings i put are fair but i advise that if you have any doubt, don't buy from me.

condition (shitajiki)
EXCELLENT: few if any defects, as good as it gets ^_^ .. matte surface shitajiki are most likely to get rated as such. VERY GOOD: a few defects, if you examine closely. many new collectibles arrive in this condition (e.g., slight-mild scratching/scuffing on shitajiki). GOOD: decent condition, with defect(s) on close examination (e.g., mild-moderate scratching/scuffing on shitajiki). FAIR: having a very noticeable defect(s), even without close examination (e.g., moderate-heavier scratching/scuffing on shitajiki)

PAYMENT: any alternate methods?
if you wish to arrange an alternate payment method than what is offered, please e-mail me. i also accept paypal, with a condition. or if you checkout an order, put preference in the notes. I prefer not to transact in cash due to obvious risks.

CONTACT: so how do i reach you?
e-mail: rowyn@cyandora.net

SHIPPING: any alternate methods (US)?
all items default to priority mail flat rate shipping, which i recommend. for flat rate envelopes/boxes, price varies between 5.00 - 11.00, depending on size of items. if you'd like to arrange something different, please e-mail me. or, if you checkout an order, put preference in notes.

SHIPPING: any alternate methods (international)?
i can ship internationally, although those rates can be much higher than US to US. e-mail me for shipping costs.

what if the items sells while i'm waiting for you to respond to a question?
i treat queries as potential orders, so if you respond promptly, you get first dibs on the item if you decide to buy. in other words, you're automatically first in line unless i don't hear back from you within 48 hours.

top^

PAYMENT TIME: when do i have to pay?
within 24 hours after I confirm your order and the total (depending on what ship method we finalize), which is usually within 24 hours after checkout. if you have transacted with me in the past, i can bend that rule but otherwise, don't submit orders unless you are ready and able to pay.

INVENTORY: why is the item I bought still listed?
two possibilities. (1) I have more than one OR (2) I haven't removed it from inventory yet. I remove items as quickly as I can when someone claims it. it's possible that what you buy is already sold out. I will confirm within 24 hours.

INVENTORY: why do items sell out so fast?
most items listed are the only one i carry. this is NOT a bonafide store, more like a garage sale for items that used to be in my collection or that I incidentally acquired but don't want. therefore, I have only ONE of most items, so it's first come, first serve.

BINSEN: what is this?
doujinshi binsen are stationary sheets featuring artwork to promote doujinshi. doujinshi are usually manga stories created with existing characters from published/broadcasted stories. they are created by japanese fan artists, who often produce work together in a group called a circle. binsen is a way to promote their work. binsen are usually made of paper; quality of paper and printing varies. Most common size is B5, although B6, A5, and even other sizes are also made.

SHITAJIKI: what is this?
stationary items, usually a B5 (~7" x 10") piece of plastic with an image. their intended use is to be placed beneath a sheet of paper to provide a smooth writing surface. they make nice collectibles b/c diverse artwork is featured, and they are relatively durable and economical (unless you're looking for something rare, old, in high demand, and/or produced in limited numbers). Most common size is B5, followed by B6 and A4, and least common is A5.

top^

SIZE: what do B5, A4 ... mean?
these are the International Organization for Standardization's (ISO) names for paper of specific sizes, based on metric system measurements. A, B, and C are the series; each number up or down indicate a progressive doubling (increase) or halving (decrease) in size.

PRICES: are your prices negotiable?
no, with possible exceptions. prices are according to my take on general market value and item condition, so i put thought into it and they're not accidental. if you think the price is too high, don't buy from me. i'll consider discounts for large orders or for transactions that are partial sale/trades.
